Jurassic Park

This is an opening scene of the Jurassic park. I believe that we can use this, for our opening of the fun fair. (Camera shots, Lighting, Timing).

This is some storytelling information about Jurassic park, just before the gates opens..

The Gates of Jurassic Park.

The gated entrance of Jurassic Park is, quite literally, a giant gate. It appears approximately one third of the way into the film, just as the characters begin the motorized tour. Before this moment, Spielberg develops escalating levels of excitement, briefly exhibiting a dinosaur and using time to verbally explain the mystery and wonder of the park. However, the tour marks the point at which the characters (and audience) will finally receive visual confirmation of what they've been waiting to see, and consequentially the tone of the scene reflects this ripe anticipation. It is only appropriate that the gate is introduced by a guiding verbal announcement: "Hey, look!" This statement identifies and defines the gate foremost as an object to look at, a spectacle-a direct convention of the blockbuster genre, if defined as such. Following this dialogue is the first shot of the entranceway, a lengthy long-distance tracking shot in which the gate appears to grow in size as the camera approaches it. This slow build-up both mirrors and accelerates the tone of the scene; the slowly decreasing distance between the audience and the gate, coupled with its seeming rise in size and stature, affirms and builds audience anticipation.

This is an example of the opening scene of the Jurassic park. I think that we can use this for our opening of the fun fair. (Camera shots, lighting, timing).

We don't have to use it, but I believe it will help my group member Michael.

These are some examples of gates that i look at.

These are some gears design and some layouts of motors.

This is an old machine gear that was used in china in the late 19th century.

Texturing like a fun fair: REFERENCE

These are some images taken from a book called FairGround Snaps. This was designed by Grahanm keen and Mark williams. I found that these images can be helpful to the group as good reference imagery.(Texturing)

Dr Everton- METAL SCRAP SCULPTURE

Dr evermore (Tom every) was a salvage expert prior to becoming an artist. He craeted Foreverton from tons of industrial scrap and machines. The websites has a lot of great photos inicluding a popcorn stand and a full orchestra of birds that were all created bu Dr. Everton.
All components of everton are salvaged from old bits and pieces of machines between 50 to 100
year old bolted together for stability.
